Make your own bag to put your bits and bobs in...
These bags are based on a feature in Patchwork and Quilting Magazine some time ago. However I have altered the dimensions and proportions. It also works with pieced pockets or a flip and sew technique, or even chenilling. You are only limited by your imagination. Enjoy!
The finished bag is 12” (30cm) tall and has:
a draw cord
four pockets around the outside of the bag
and a 6” (15cm) square base.
Requirements
Fabric
Sewing Equipment
A sharp rotary cutter, a cutting board, a ruler,
pins, scissors, pencil or marker, appropriate threads,
and 120” (3 m) of cord or tape for the draw string.
Fabric
- 30” (75cm) of fabric for the bag itself
- 30”(75cm) of fabric for the lining
- Interfacing, either fusible or medium weight 6½” x 35”(16.5 x 89cm) of Vilene
- An optional requirement is a small piece of wadding, 6½” square (16.5cm) for the base.
